Behind the Story - Barbara J Mockford, A closer look at the ideas, memories, and meaning behind each book.

In ancient times there was a forest of trees named the Lew Forest, inhabited by groups of Tree

Spirits. They were a varied group with many talents, such as singing nonsense songs that everyone but Finchley Bluster could understand. There were several animals who acted as protectors, such as Hodio the bear and Lingle the fox, but the most lovely one of all was the Glory bird named Leysis. She was a very special protector as she constantly sang very beautiful songs that only stopped when danger was near. The Tree Spirits lived in harmony until the Onlies, treeless Spirits, came into their lives in an invasive sort of way. The young girl Tree Spirit. Calming, and her father, Archer, were the only ones brave enough to make contact with them. The Amber Pendant is a spiritual book that will invite you to consider what exactly that means.
